Rainy Day Ghosts!

April 26, 2009

It is a rainy, dreary, cold day outside so I decided to have some fun inside where it is warm and make ghost pictures.

Setup: My Canon 40D with a Metz 58 AF-1 on the hot shoe set a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod with a 486RC2 ball head and a remote camera trigger.

crw_9629Set your camera to a long exposure – this one was 10 seconds. When you trigger the shutter, the flash will fire. Have your “ghost” in the frame when the flash fires and then remove it immediately after. The rest of the image is exposed for the full 10 seconds while your “ghost” is only exposed for the flash.
